Whether it is feedback, a bug, a question, or a press enquiry, we read every message.
Email us at hello@savemychats.com. We aim to reply within a few working days.
A few things worth knowing
- We can't see your chats. Because everything happens in your browser, we have no copy of your conversation. If you are reporting a problem, please describe what happened rather than sending your chat — and never send us private messages you would not want shared.
- Bug reports: let us know your device, browser, and whether the chat was exported from iPhone or Android. That is usually enough for us to reproduce it.
- Feature ideas: very welcome. A lot of what SaveMyChats does started as a suggestion from someone using it.
- Ad-free purchases: if a licence key is not working, include the email address you bought with and we will sort it out.
Before you write
A few questions come up often enough to answer here:
- "My export is missing old messages." WhatsApp caps export size and trims the oldest messages before the file is created. Nothing we do can recover them — see How to Export a WhatsApp Chat.
- "Can you recover deleted messages?" No. We only read the file WhatsApp gives you; if a message is not in the export, it is not available to us.
- "Can you read an iCloud or Google Drive backup?" No. Those are encrypted in a format only WhatsApp can open. You need to use the in-app Export Chat feature instead.
- "It is slow with a huge chat." The work happens on your own device, so a multi-gigabyte export is limited by your machine. The same file usually converts fine on a laptop.
