SaveMyChats is a browser-based tool that turns an exported chat archive into a private, self-contained PDF or web page. This page explains exactly what does — and does not — happen with your data.
When you drop a chat export (a .zip or .txt file) onto
SaveMyChats, it is read and processed entirely inside your web browser using
JavaScript running on your own device. The chat text, media, contact names, and any
other content in the export are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored
on any server that we or anyone else operates. There is no backend that
receives your chat data — the parsing, rendering, redaction, and export (HTML or PDF)
all happen locally in your browser tab and are discarded when you close or refresh the
page, unless you choose to save the exported file yourself.
We collect no chat content, no message text, no contact names, and no media from your export, in any form, at any time.
SaveMyChats is free to use and is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance. Google may use this data in accordance with its own policies. You can learn more about how Google uses data and manage your ad personalisation settings here:
If you use an ad blocker, you may be offered a one-off paid unlock instead of ads — see "Payments" below. Ad serving is entirely separate from, and has no access to, your chat content.
If you choose to pay for the ad-free unlock, payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We do not see, collect, or store your card number or other payment details — Lemon Squeezy handles the transaction and issues you a licence key. Please refer to Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
SaveMyChats does not require you to create an account. Any preference we do store (for example, a redeemed ad-free licence key, so you don't need to re-enter it) is kept only in your browser's local storage on your own device, and is never sent to us.
Questions about this policy can be sent to the site owner via the contact details on the homepage.
